If you’re a beginner, you should start trying more intermediate patterns. If you’re at an intermediate level and want to push your skills to the next level, start doing expert patterns. As you gradually do more challenging patterns, the easier everything else will seem and you’ll get better simply by practicing.
Use Online Resources
Sometimes looking at a pattern and trying to figure out all of the numbers and instructions doesn’t work for everyone. If you hate the idea of staring at a piece of paper and not being able to understand the pattern, you should start looking for some online resources in the form of instructional videos. There are plenty to be found on popular video streaming sites and they’re all free to watch. If you respond better to visual learning and you feel like knitting has been difficult for you up until this point, you might consider switching to video tutorials, at least until you feel more comfortable working with patterns on paper.
Because there are not unlimited tutorials out there, you will have some limitations when it comes to what you’d like to make. But you can always start with these tutorials and switch to paper later when you feel more comfortable.
